

If you're not looking to invest all of your time into it (like -RJ- etc.), phpBB and SMF are just fine, especially with the hundreds of mods and themes you can find. Take a look at a site like zunescene.com and you'll see that you can build a popular and active (nearly 30,000 members, many active) forum without the need to pay the $165, however, if you're in it for the long run (5+ years or more) it would probably be a good idea to invest, if just for the added security alone.rep- said:I was planning to build a forum for it anyway.
