Your max bid for Samui dot asia?

I happened to be in an auction for Samui dot asia (don't ask me how ) For those who don't know - Samui is the most popular (and very beautiful) island in Thailand. It is currently going over $2000. What are your thoughts on this - not worth it? I was thinking of developing it into Samui portal.

it is, but there is almost twice more searches for just "samui" than for "koh samui". (BTW "koh" means island in thai)

Tooo much - and no longer the most beautiful island in Thailand, spoilt by commercialism some years ago (Krabi /Similans have the best :imho - I believe Phuket is the most popular island destination.

btw technically Phuket is not an island due to being connected to the continent by road, that's why you never hear "Koh Phuket".

do you mean competition with established samui sites like samui.com, kohsamui.com, koh-samui.com etc.? or competition in the auction? the other bidder is again that MGM Mirage...

Its the most well known one to europeans, fantastic scuba diving around Phuket :tu:

Should reach $3000, although I do not own a single .asia name as I never got what i wanted to in .asia )

I won listing.asia. Ofcourse I missed listings.asia.
I am not sure about cricket.asia

I decided to focus strictly on GEOs during this gambling session and managed to get:

Phangan.asia (5 GBP) - Koh Phangan
KohChang.asia (72 GBP) - Koh Chang
(and could not resist FlyCheap.asia for a fiver - 5 GBP)
However the real pearls like Samui were beyond the risk level I intended to take.

Total investemnt into asia: 82 GBP - I can afford to lose that.

Don't get me wrong: where did you see me hating asia? What I really hate is seeing hundreds of you crying in 3 years having lost thousands in the gambling. Gamble responsibly.
