Hi everyone, I am new here. Id like to find out: where do you guys sell ur domains? In my experience, people dont seem to buy domains very much on these forums (if you look at the sales board, there are so many more "buy my domain" threads, than actual responses). So, where do you guys sell and advertise?

Welcome to NamePros!

The top places to sell domains are afternic.com and sedo.de (.co.uk, .es, etc.). Also, most committed domainers probably make their sales by searching for and contacting end-users. You just have to be creative and professional in your approach.

Apollo

:bingo: Good advice.

Even on sites like sedo and afternic, sales are not easy to come by. Sedo for instance, lists 1.6 million names for sale on its site so 99.999% of the names go unsold every month.

As armstrong touched on, you should actively seek out buyers that have a potential use for the name. This is the best way to sell your name and works better than waiting around for someone to contact you. :)

By far the best way to sell your names though is to own good, useful names.

Registering (or purchasing) good, quality domain names and then targeting them to relevant End user's is one of the best, most lucrative ways to sell one's domains, IMHO. We recognize this here, as well ... and most all Namepros members will try to assist their fellow NP'rs with locating viable, potential End user suitors, either in the "Appraisal's Forum", and/or the End user's for NP$'s thread in the "NP$ Forum". There are also some sample Marketing Letters for this specific purpose in the "Marketing Forum".
Sales/Auctions threads at a domain forum, such as Namepros, are inherently at the Wholesale level ... domainers spotting opportunites to acquire good domain names at reasonable prices to then either resell, add value to their existing holdings, or to one day develop for a myriad of reasons. Though beauty is in the eyes of the beholders, generally domainers scan spot domains with some perceived level of value ... and will act on that. Domains with little or no perceived value, usefulness will likely never be sold, at either level. Personally, I buy and sell domains here on the site all of the time (sold two today for $135 and negotiating via PM for a third at $100+, plus those sold/being sold in the "NP$'s Forum" - 775 NP$'s today, with one Auction ending on Monday).
Most likely that means that someone(s) saw enough relative value in the domains to make a bona-fide Wholesale offer ... to then do what they will. I'm also selectively choosing some of my domains and marketing them to End user's where I see a greater potential. There's really nothing quite like it, IMHO. :tu:

Welcome to NamePros Redman!
I personally use afternic.com to sell my domain names, and forums for quick sale on domain names that I do not think are worth a premium price.

I agree with jj2ii3344, if you're after a quick sale, forums aren't bad.

same here, I like forums because its not a long wait for your domain to be sold plus you get some feedback which always helps.

I quite like Afternic, am new to the domain name trading game but have sold a few through them.

And, of course, this site :)
