I have owned this domain since 1999, and I am wondering how much it could potentially sell for. It used to be a Christian music website, but it is no longer an active site. Any idea how much it's worth?

Assuming this is a high value domain, say $50,000+, where would be the best place to go about auctioning this domain? This site? SnapNames? Ebay? Also, what would be the best site for handling the money transfer? Can paypal do transactions in the $50,000+ range, or do they have a limit?

I would suggest selling at the forums. I've also heard some decent stuff about snapnames, though I haven't sold anything yet (just purchasing), so I can't really say much except I don't think eBay is the best place to sell names for multiple reasons. As for payment, for large sums forgo PayPal and go with Escrow.

Sedo auction, or submit it to the next Moniker.com auction (See main forum for extensive discussions on Moniker auctions).
Seniors.com just went for 1.x Million $, so I assume that's what brought you out of hiding ;) ?

My best guess would be $30k perhaps... but it would take a motivated buyer. "YoungPeople" just isn't "kids.com" or "children.com" or "babies.com" that would be the "seniors.com" equivalent.

Just :imho:

Thanks for the info. I actually started looking into selling the domain after someone offered me $1,500 for it, which got me thinking it might be worth a good deal more than that. I have been reading up on domain selling for the past couple days, and I am considering just parking the domain with Sedo. I've read that they are not the most profitable site for domain parking, but they are good if you are looking to sell your domain later on, based on how much traffic the site generates. Does this sound like a good idea, or should I just try to auction it off and not even bother parking the domain?

I would appraise this as high $X,XXX to low $XX,XXX.
Get it some exposure, dont be in a hurry(be patient) :) to get your best price.

Park it somewhere without a listed price.

Or make a mini (directory style site with ads on it).

Then when your ready ,submit to auction and hope for the best. Good Luck.

Noticed this, and ran it myself and got only $55,000 - maybe something was changed after the last update?

At any rate, this is of course a premium domain, and I'm sure parking it at SEDO might not be a bad idea to get a feel for the traffic.

As Allan mentioned above, Moniker auctions are probably the best way to get the best return from this domain.

I'd expect it to fetch $xx,xxx

Cheers,
Josh

Low $xx.xxx here too. Good keywords, but I do not know who would be interested in developing it. "Young people" is somehow official.

Best luck with it, and I agree with other, do have patience with selling. Also to get a better idea of its value, you could put it for sale here on namepros in the high priced domain section. Based on the offers you get, you could decide if you want to sell it or not.

A very nice name for a dating web site. I would say it's worth around low XX,XXX to mid XX,XXX.

A nice one!
