If this was true, they wouldn't tell someone via their e-mail support system? I mean, just because a customer care person said there's it's not true, doesn't mean it is not true? It could just mean that they haven't been told anything official... or they've been told to deny it if asked. :)

I am just guessing here, But if a buy out or merger were to take place, it would be undisclosed until it was fully completed, but, who knows.

the coustomer care's reply as you see it, is pretty straight foreword, and it say that all the rumors are absolutely false! and there is no such thing,

am a paid coustomer of yahoo small business, so the answer is somewhat professional i guess! they could have given a diplomatic answer, but the straight foreword answer means, there is absolutely nothing in the news! and everything that was told and discussed was just rumors!

Support staff will not be made aware of such steps which would taken taken care of by the top management.

=\ so just because a REP says that its true? when people merge 2 companies they don't usally tell till its done.

actually

the coustomer care took me about 3-4 days to reply, it usually takes about 24-48 hours! i think the coustomer care people have asked the managenment before replying to my question........

"saying all rumors are wrong!" a simple coustomer representative can't speak such big words with out permission of the management i guess! :imho:

I think that the answer/reply email you're received is worth exactly "zilch". This doesn't mean that you've done the wrong thing or anything. It appears to me that you're somewhat emotionally tied to that topic. I couldn't fathom why that is, but nonetheless, irregardless of you being a business customer of Yahoo, there are tons of legal policies to be observed, calculations to be done, etc.
Mergers, take overs, etc. don't happen over night and the support staff, whether that be regular customer support or business client support are definitely on the lowest end of the totem pole to obtain such information. It wouldn't be surprising or the first time that employees are informed of a take over via the news media.
I'm not saying that the rumors are correct or incorrect for that matter, i'm just pointing towards the possibility of such a merger as it would make absolute sense for Yahoo and MS. Until it is clearly stated by company officials, in a press conference, that this is just a rumor, i've learned not to dismiss anything.

yes, this is a very valid point!
but then i don't think there will be any official statements as the news is getting faded now! looks like all the rumors are finishing up automatically!

What? Why would Yahoo's customer service care. What I think they would most likely give you is some answer that says that they don't know.

Yahoo outsources their customer service you know, right? Microsoft has been known not to release ANY details about anything until it is pretty much done. (Trade)

if there were something in the rumors then the yahoo coustomer care would have told that they don't know!! it looks to me, there was nothing in the rumors actually :imho:

I think the discussions are still under preliminary stages. Even CNN reported it.
