IDN is not the future, Netsol have deleted all of their IDN´s....
People wasted a fortune on thoose things....

Like séx.com sèx.com..... if you want to make money, dont waste them on idn.

the value of domain names primarily goes on three points. 1) How memorable it is; 2) How easy it is to type 3) brandbility (.com's being perceived to be most valuable, etc.).

To no. 1 you can add how easy it is to make mistakes when trying to type a domain (like not adding "s" mistakenly when the site you wanted to visit is supposed to have one, etc.).. and idn's just seriously breaks this rule that while the jury may still be out on their viability, chances are that their ultimate value won't be much, if at all.

depends - in german-speaking countries, those domains will eventually catch on, since for us it's weird to type "oe" instead of "ö".
nevertheless, it still needs additional software to work right now and email facilities are not supported on hosting. the .com will not be worth much more than the .de in this case and only for local purposes...

hold on to it, then sell it in a year. important: it's worth nothing if you don't also get the .de version, which will be available soon.

.ch is going IDN tomorrow morning. I wonder wether or not I should buy a couple.. thoughts? waste of money & time?
