My friend who owns 3000+ domains thinks it could easily/quickly be sold with a $995 BIN, but could be sold for a lot more if I'm willing to wait.
What do you guys think? I see that BlockchainChina.com sold for $3082 USD...
I understand China is much bigger country, but do you think Bermuda is or will be a bigger player when it comes to blockchain? Bermuda's government is definitely welcoming blockchain with open arms, but it's not entirely clear which direction China is going (from I read).
I'm not an expert in blockchain/crypto. Any comments are welcome.
Hi,
This is what I would do: Check out the appraisals for china.com and bermuda.com from several sources, and then make an average, and do the following calculation:
value of blockchainBermuda in $ = 3082 * (avg. value of bermuda / avg. value of china)
This could give a very approximate estimation on the potential value of the domain.
Good luck
Thanks! I just did the math using Estibot figures and the number I came up with was almost bang-on with GoDaddy's appraisal tool (which is impressive and a bit creepy at the same time)! Is that appraisal method standard practice?
That was just a simple rule of three I conjured based on the value of Bermuda(dot)com vs China(dot)com.
Most appraisal tools make an average around key word quality, history of sales with those, traffic rankings and age. With that said, I don't think many of those tools are very reliable on their own. For example, I think the GoDaddy tool usually has ridiculously high appraisals, so I rarely use it.
Then there's the other element that goes with your own marketing. Maybe there's a company in Bermuda willing to give you 10K up front. Many times its all about finding the right place and the right people.
