Hi,

I built a site at Serious Compacts - Photography, News, Discussion, and Reviews of Advanced Compact Cameras for people who are interested in serious photography with compact cameras. Over time, we have built up a nice community there. Lately I find that my job doesn't give me the time to update the site as often as I would like, and I'm considering selling it versus just posting infreuently. It brings in a decent revenue each month (Adsense and Amazon Associates), so there's no point selling if it isn't worth much.

Would very much appreciate an appraisal.

Thanks!

I don't think anyone here is going to be interested in evaluating or maintaining the site and will value just the domain on name and traffic.

You get 770 exact searches and ranked #1 for that keyword search... so it's worth something.

I've seen people throw out the number 2-5 x Monthly Revenue x 1 Year as a baseline.

As you know, it is hard to create a successful website. Later your job situation might change and you would regret selling this site, and be forced to start over again? It looks like you've been doing this since 2007...that's a lot of work.

IMHO..I think you should take some of those adsense earnings and pay someone to keep your site updated. Before doing this, maybe better position your ads throughout.

This way it is still yours, your visitors are still yours and growing, over time your monthly earnings should go up, and you give someone a job!

HA. You can, as well, just ignore everything I said. Good luck!
