Earlier this year AT&T bid $18.2 Billion to acquire 251 AWS3 spectrum licenses - some $72.5 million average per license acquired. How much revenue can be generated with spectrum? There are geographic limitations and to capitalize on that spectrum one has to have the infrastructure in place to do so - perhaps entailing significant additional capex dollars in each market to do so. I'm no expert in the topic but still.
