WiredComfort - Online Web Based Operating System
What is it?
Where is the name registered, and when's expiration?
It won't log in when I'm using FireFox!
What programs are installed?
How many people are using WiredComfort? What kind of advertising has been done?
How custom is the site? What does it run on?
How much does it cost to run the site?
How would I monetize such a site?
You haven't answered my question yet, what can I do?
Type of sale: Auction
Reserve: Yes, but it's modest
Starting price: $49
Increments: $6 for the first bid and $5, $10, $20 after (you can choose, but just keep it so it stays even)
Taking offers for a BIN: Currently, Yes!
Set BIN: $899
How to pay: If it gets to more than $299, then it will need to be payed via Escrow.com. I will split the fees with the buyer.
Ending time: Will 24 hours after the highest post reserve bid. Or if a BIN is used.
Thanks,
Ryan
What is it?
WiredComfort is an operating system that is fully web-based, so you can access it anywhere you have an internet connection! All accounts get 1GB of space!
Where is the name registered, and when's expiration?
Name is at Godaddy, and there is somewhere around 6 months
left.
left.

Sometimes FireFox likes to argue with the script a bit. Once you do get logged in however, it will work error free.
What programs are installed?
When you are logged into your online desktop, you will have access to a full office suite, a web browser, games, email client, even an RSS reader, and much more! It has everything you'd need on any desktop. You can save and import/export all files.
How many people are using WiredComfort? What kind of advertising has been done?
Currently, there are about 35 active users, and the site's only been online for about a week, but the it is getting about 25 U/V daily, totaling 1,500 hits daily. The traffic is coming from a few sources, none of which were payed.
- Google - about 25 hits in 7 days
- Digg - I think it got something like 50+ diggs
- Some free link exchanges and what not
- Also, the site was reviewed by an AJAX site I've never heard of before. Keep in mind this was not an incentivized review at all, but it can be seen here.
How custom is the site? What does it run on?
The look is one of it's own, and took a loonngg while to make. I personally designed it myself. The script it runs on is a very slightly tweaked EyeOS (eyeos.com)
How much does it cost to run the site?
So far, I've payed for nothing but the hosting. If you'd like, it wouldn't be a terrible idea to pay for some advertising, but it is absolutely not needed.
How would I monetize such a site?
Well this took some thinking, but I had a few ideas as to how to make money with the site. One of them would be to set the home page of the internal web browser to a site that has Google AdSense for search on it. Another would be you could charge people to have their wallpapers set as the default. It would take some thinking, but there are ways.
You haven't answered my question yet, what can I do?
As long as you have read all that I have posted, and aren't going to ask me something I've already answered, then feel free to PM or post it here!
