Hey,

I've had a hotmail email for a while, and on windows xp startup, on the login acc screen it would say "You have 134 new emails." For example. Now, I have a new email, I would like to change it... or remove that feature. On startup, it still tells me my old amount of emails.

Any suggestions? Cheers

Can you go to Internet Properties and change your default eMail?

I was not aware of that, and I checked, I did not see an option that helped. :(

Thanks for tip. I really didn't want to disable it, just disable ONE of the email accounts it sources emails from!

Any thoughts?

Ohh...

following some guidance...

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail]

I see that there are 2 email accounts sub-foldered into that route. One of them, I want to remove from getting unread mail. May I just... disable/delete that? Deleting that won't screw things up?

EDIT:

Well, I deleted it. No probs so far. I guess my next mission is to get my new email into that unread emails!

You can try (I have not tried this myself, but this would hurt nothing if it doesn't work ;) ) just creating that "MessageExpiryDays" key with a value of "0" inside that particular email one. Deleting the key won't work, becuase the next time you use MSN Explorer, MSN Messenger, or any other MS/MSN product that checks those keys, to login to that email account, the key will just be re-created.

I deleted it before you posted, I clicked "start... logout"

It didn't display my emails from that account/key that I deleted. I'm logged into MSN Messenger right now, it hasn't re-created! :o

How do I ADD keys into there?
