domain WiiHacks.net / WiiDiscuss.com

Hey,

I'm interested to know what these domains would be worth. I know sites like PSPhacks.com / net / PSP-Hacks.com is very popular. So I would think if there's "hacks" out there one day for Nintendo's Wii (would it be any kind of 3rd party software or user created games with that amazing remote) it can be a popular site.

Also WiiDiscuss.com. I think it's great for a Wii forum. Almost like "We Discuss Nintendo's Wii". Together they can be great. Where WiiHacks.net provides the news and downloads for hacks, and WiiDiscuss.com is where the coders etc. discusses the hacking + plus your normal Wii games etc. related discussions.

WiiHacks is counting on there actually being the ability to hack the console, as well as the assumption there will be a large enough amount of people interested in and capable of doing so.

Nobody will actually know whether this is true until the console is launched in November, so you miss out on several months prior to launch to build momentum, in which time the other major Wii sites will most likely have grown immensely in popularity

Throwing in the fact that its .net rather than the more desirable .com or even .info, in addition to the fact that there are a LOT of Wii domains i'd say this one isn't strong enough to attract attention from resellers, however with development and/or a specific end-user, you could make some money from it.

My opinion - Reg Fee to low XX, possibly more with development

WiiDiscuss.com

Has a hint of brandability to it that fits with the entire concept of the consoles name, as in "We Discuss..." - however i'm still dubious as to whether that concept will apply in the minds of browsers when it comes to type-in traffic - I can imagine people being more likely to look for discusswii.com rather than wiidiscuss.com.

Still, it is a dot com, and the domain has relevance, rather than being one of these ones in which the regger has just stuck Wii in with any random word.

At the moment there is still a window to get in there with development of Wii-related sites, and if thats done and the site is developed well, you could be looking at the mid-high XXX range when it comes closer to the November launch. Without development, you'll maybe get mid XX for the domain now, possibly high XX-low XXX for the domain in a month or two, once the flurry of sales dies down.

Well I agree with you on WiiHacks.net. Although based upon the popularity of PSP hacks/homebrew and a site like PSPhacks.net being extremely popular (and PSP-Hacks.com), I think it'll do great once the console is actually out.

Wiihacks.net is probally worth $20 undeveloped but would be alot higher with development. I would develop WiiDiscuss, reg fee if not as it does not make much sense to me (ex: Sportsdiscuss) should be disussname not namediscuss. Hope that helped you.
