I would be interested to know if this domain name would be worth anything.

It is the name of a commuter town in Surrey, UK. The location of two train stations, a parade of shops and a football team (not premier league but with a pitch).

I bought it because it is where I live and because the .net .co.uk and the .tv had already gone.

Thanks

hehe It is nice to own a domain of your home town. I'm thinking about purchasing an .info extension of my home town, as the other major TLDs are taken.

Hold on to your domain, could come in handy and/or of value in the future. :)

Thanks for the replies.

It is nice to own your home town, even if only online. So I may hold onto it for a while.

Any ideas what I should do with it. At the moment it redirects to my own site.

PS. Does anyone know of another Whyteleafe somewhere in the world. I couldn't find one.

Thank for your replies.

CMOS. You asked whether I was getting any traffic. That is a good question but the answer is that I do not know. What would be a good way of tracking traffic to the domain?

Hello Janee118

Thank you for your post, which got me thinking. A domain must be worth more depending on total population, size and what is in the area.

We had a Census in 2001 and here are the results pertaining to whyteleafe.

http://neighbourhood.statistics.gov.uk/AreaProfileFrames.asp?TID=13&AREA=Whyteleafe&AID=175777

As Whyteleafe in Surrey appears to be the only town in the world with that name (please correct me if I am wrong), this is the total breakdown for the town. You could use this information for any town or region in the UK to help access and value a domain before spending more money on domains. However, the larger the population the more chance the domains have already been taken.

Here is a better link:

http://neighbourhood.statistics.gov.uk/AreaProfileFrames.asp?TID=13&AREA=Whyteleafe&AID=175777

as the one posted previously gave details for thhe whole of Tandridge.
