To average Joe using AdSense this would look like a good idea. If I wasnt part of NamePros or hadnt learnt anything from you guys, then I may fall into the trap of beleiving this was ok.

I agree. The sooner these guys are forced to abandon their neo-dotcom pipe dream and adopt a viable business model the sooner they can start making money and sharing it with us instead of spending all their resources fighting a loosing battle against click fraud.

Absolutely. Can you believe the audacity of a company like Sedo who commits fraud by stating that they “count every click”, and continues to lie about it even when presented with log files proving they only count a fraction.

The only thing more audacious than this is when they cry about click fraud. Oh, boo hoo! There's no honour amongst thieves.

I am not justifying or condoning click fraud, simply saying that it's a necessary part in the evolution of internet advertising. PPC is the slickly wildebeast and click fraud is the hungry lion.

This is the thing, the more click fraud examples there are the higher the chances that the big players like Google will adjust the algorithm or crack down on the people behind this. Once this happens, then the honest publishers will get rewards with advertisers feeling confident that click fraud will not be a problem.

Advertiser confidence and improved click fraud prevention = higher bids per keyword...

Well said Rob,These scammers make it out to look like it's perfectly fine and legal.Alot even go as far as putting in there TOS and other sections of thier site activity is completly legal.,The problem is,When these people have to answer to a judge on fraud charges and they say,Buy your honor They said it was completly legal and i did'nt know any better,The judge will look at them and say,Ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law.This kind of scamming has to stop on the net or i think the net commerce could fold IMO

I think PPC operators don't really care at this point in time. There is money to be creamed at the expense of clueless advertisers and so long as paying customers pay up, why change? Is there a better alternative?

If there is an average of $1.75 for each click that can be earned by the stroke of a finger, and maybe 30sec stay on the landing page to avoid raising suspicion, the market is booming for armies of illegal immigrants in developed countries to sit in front of a cheap Dell computer and click click click. It's much more lucrative than working in MacDonald's, that's for sure.

Until and unless conversion is pegged to clicks, the temptation will just get larger and larger as the funny money continues to swing to funny land.

The horror story may have started a long time ago, as far back as 2000 without anybody smelling any rotting cheese. It's like if you did it without others getting a clue years ago, you just earned and earned, and you kept very quite about it.

Most of the affiliate programs abandoned PPC long ago for payment on follow through purchases. My guess is Google will consider this model as well if they can't keep abuse at bay, and the advertisers who pay for the clicks find an alternate source who provides income over eyes.

companies like this contribute to lowering all of our revenu, and if not controled or eradicated, it will no doubt lead to the end off ppc or at best ridiculously low ppc revenues compared to today....

I'm up for a wager. This site will hopefully be gone by tomorrow! I really don;t want to lose the adsense program because some scammers think it is ok to spoil it for the rest of us who just want to make an extra buck and honestly.
