Why Are Some Parked Domains Visible?

Hey Pros,

For some reason, when I park a number of domains at a site like Bodis.com, I can see some of them while others don't appear when I type in the domain name. This "Ghost in the Machine" phenomenon seems to occur no matter who the "parker" is. For example, I just parked several at Parked.com, and I received the following almost-entirely-literate reply from an account manager when I asked this question:

"Lew,

You should be able to view your parked domains as long as you don’t click on the ad links. If you could not see any of your parked domains, then there might be because of other problems."

My 18-year-old computer whiz son seems to think the problem might relate to the fact that I use AOL, though I don't know why. I use Mozilla and Internet Explorer when I type in domains. Any suggestions on what the "other problems" might be?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Just? It can take 24-48 hours for your nameserver changes to propagate throughout the internet. Especially if your ISP is AOL. They could cache the DNS setting for a longer time.

you could try running: start->run->ipconfig /flushdns

Thanks for the help! My first two "parkers" were Sedo and NameDrive, and they now seem to be way ahead of the curve as far as getting a domain name up-and-running.
