1. You would have been better off keeping the site developed (if you are the one that owned it when it was).

2. What information could a site like that give the user that they couldn't find on the person's Twitter account directly?

As far as the domain name I really don't see any value to it.

Lacking originality and no one would ever pay a high price for it, being that tweet is something that belongs to/is synonymous with twitter. Twitter certainly isn't going to buy it. Those data indexing sites of that sort are "nifty", but they aren't something people return to. Twitter is big. A site that has info about twitter isn't going to be big. Just because Twitter had a lot of success doesn't mean that it's going to spill over to any site related to Twitter. When people need Twitter stuff--they go to Twitter.
