Whois querying

I am interested in compiling a list of keywords for a script that will query a whois database. I currently use whois.internic.net for the information for .net and .com domains. I am curious if they have a limit to the number of queries per minute/hour. I am also wondering what the other whois database possibilities for .com, .net, .biz, .info, .us domains. What URL can I query to get their whois and what is the query limit per minute/hour?

it doesn't tell rate limits, but click on any ccTLD and you can see their respective whois servers (Not all of which respond well to DNA queries).
