Hi.

I am not sure this thread is in the right place but I will try asking anyway. I have thought of a keyword that I would like that is technology related that I think I could possibly resell later on. I noticed that it is available in .org , .io and .co . If it is technology related which domain extension would you choose out of the 3? I know .io seems to be popular with tech startups so I am learning more towards .io or .org.

I would say to go with .co as .org is more suitable for organisations or so-called organisations n it is generally presumed like this by general public... and I don't like .io bcz it has 2 syllables... just my preference...

I should of mentioned that this name could be for a business so maybe .org would still be suitable?

What type of business? .org is generally presumed to be for not-for-profit organisations, charities, conservation or social awareness type of things... I am not saying that there are no companies with .org extensions but they perceived to be like that by general public... If your business is something like the above then .org will be best for that. And what about .com? is it a developed site?

Without any doubt, .io. This extension has come to be the choice of many tech companies, startups, and just about anything else tech related lately. It's prices are doing well also and since you were going to reg a tech domain, this is by far the best choice.

.co will get a lot of people going to the .com equivalent domain as history has shown.

.org is usually for organizations, charities, non-profit's, etc.

I got some .space with strong keys (super offer €1 each) and parked them on Sedo, but... no visits at all!!:xf.frown:
They are simply ignored!!

Idem for .uk and .eu :xf.frown:

Its depends on the name which extension (.org .co .io) it sounds better with or most sought after if you plan to resell ... you might consider registering more than one of these TLD's. Many registrants have the same name in several different extensions, you might end up with two sales.

Depending on the keywords you might also consider a new gTLD namely .technology or .tech but I only suggest this if your keywords are strong and/or you expect them to grow in popularity.

If it's still available, it means nobody would register it for $10 (or $50 for .io). Tough sell.

I'd opt for .co
