question When to buy domain, before or after expiry?

So, i want to buy domain name.
which currently available on buy now at lower at 10$ and going to expired and available withing 5 day.

now my question is, "when to buy this domain"
before expiry so that my domain shows age of 15 year, can it increase ranking in search engine etc?
or
buy after it expired? so that it available at cheap rate, and i am sure no one else going to buy that domain.

If its in 10 usd with age and u need it dont wait..
If its picked by some domainer or other enduser u will have to pay alot more then 10 usd
