Don't you just hate it when you see an available domain name, and decide to give yourself a day or two to think about it and then BAM! - Someone swoops in and registers it.

Anyone want to share the names that you could have had? The ones you're particularly annoyed with yourself about.

Roomator.com is one of mine. I'll be so mad with myself if that gets big.
Along with Getnekkid.com and Flexisexual.com. Could have had some fun with those. :]

Same thing with forum sales. You take a minute to think things through and then someone posts SOLD! You have to react fast when the inventory is available.

The last time was few days ago. I found domain i think is worth much more than reg fee ($25), and i decided to reg it 3 days after i found it, and it was gone! Name was hosting dot gs. Many of you probably dont like obscure extensions, but hosting is one of the best possible keywords and it has its value in each extension, just as sex, casino or poker.

What pisses me is when i put a tab on a nice domain that was about to drop in a few hours.... only to be regged by Andrew Reberry. Man, that guy is like a garbage can vacuum cleaner. You won't even have time to comtemplate.

lol -- this has happened to me a few times. I started to wonder if some of the free tools I use keep a list of the names I am checking, and then they go ahead and register the names (always seems to be private registrations when the names go out from under me).

worst of this, you start registering a domain, put it in basket go checkout and you think it's done. But at the same time, a few seconds earlier someone purchased the same domain at a different registrar.

Two hours later your slow registrar, issues a refund and drops the domain from your account.

there are registars that registers names people have checked.
Myself and a couple other NPer's proved it a couple years ago
We kept checking for nonsensical names.

Sure enough after a few checks, names are regged & parked

I think they were saying that they were putting in those nonsense names purely as a test - because nobody in a million years would want to reg them. Therefore, if they saw them come up as regged in a week or so, they were able to verify that someone at the site was caching their searched information.

They didn't actually intend on registering those names. But they had to use nonsense words in order to test the theory.
