Hi NamePros community!

I'd like to get your expert opinions on a domain I'm considering: whatsupmetaverse.com

My Initial Thoughts:
- Combines a familiar phrase ("what's up") with an emerging tech term
- Could potentially work for:
- Metaverse news/updates platform
- Community discussion forum
- Metaverse events calendar
- Social platform for metaverse users

Questions for the Community:
1. How would you rate the commercial potential of this domain?
2. What kind of end-user markets could be interested?
3. Is the "whatsup" prefix helping or hurting its value?
4. Any suggestions for similar alternatives I should consider?

Development Potential:
- News aggregator for metaverse updates
- Directory of metaverse spaces
- Community platform

Price Point:
- What would be a reasonable price range for this type of domain?
- Is it better suited for development or resale?

I appreciate any honest feedback - both positive and constructive criticism. As someone learning the ropes, your insights will be incredibly valuable.

Thank you in advance! 🙏

How many what’s up names have you seen sell?

Thank you for your reply, according to my search i think the last sell was on 2021 that contains the word what's up and it was for $xxx, but the metaverse however is a great keyword.

Well, "META" (not "Metaverse") is still a great keyword, and it already was before Facebook renamed to Meta. Lots of companies worldwide are using META in their company name. However, you won't find any good domains in that area in the .com extension anymore. You'd better skip this keyword for now as a beginning domain investor. Also don't register anything similar to Whatsapp & Meta, which is what you were apparently doing.

Metaverse really dropped off.

About the only "what's up" domain I would want is WhatsUpdog.com.

While I'm dropping most of my 'metaverse' domains, if I was thinking about reg'n "whatsupmetaverse.com" I would consider dropping "what" and just go with supmetaverse.com... as that is the parlance of pop culture.

'supuniverse.com' is taken, for example, 'sup' is in the dictionary as slang for what's up, and "sup" returns 264,000,000 results in Goog.

As for the phrase, it started trending about half a year ago when the "What's up, brother?" meme emerged, right before Hawk Tuah. Current Google queries according to Ahrefs:

whatsup.png

Memes of course come and go, and the corresponding domains are left unsold, but the Bugs Bunny catchphrase is a classic/evergreen. (Incidentally, whatsupdog is close to that phrase and watchdog.)
