Hi Guys,

I have had this domain name for years with the original intention of promoting an online magazine that never came to fruition. I currently work two jobs and don't have that much time to maintain the site, but would like to do something with it.

I feel like the main consensus is parking a domain generates very little residual income and might not be worth the effort, but I don't know how to code to really make a professional blog, etc.

I've tried selling it, but I haven't gotten anything resembling a reasonable offer.

Any ideas for on how to finally monetize this domain and break out of this rut?

Thanks!

Do you have this domain set up with hosting already? If so setting up a blog is actually very easy.

Very nice domain, its a keeper for sure... well unless someone was to offer you oodles of bucks for it :)

There's a few problems here:

1. It SOUNDS like an awesome name, but getting legitimate buyers for a worthy price tag has definitely been a challenge.
2. I've really thought about a blog but all of the blog builders tend to look very clunky and lack a professional polish. I don't have the money right now to hire a designer.
3. Pictures and intellectual property law. I feel like I'm going to misuse a picture much sooner than later.
4. Even though I can write, how do you compete with the blogs out today? They basically have armies of reporters and tons of connections.

These are just my thoughts so far... if someone can assist I'd appreciate it!

(side note: if you parked a page, could you still register it for adwords?)

No, if you really want to start off a blog out of your domain you don't need any designer. Wordpress is a pretty straight-forward thing to use for a blog. There is a bit learning curve but nothing too complicated for you to handle.

Just a thought:
I would go to amazon dot com, then to Books -> Magazines section. Take a look at the magazines facepage headings. That might trigger an idea.
Good luck
