What web design tools do you use?

Interested in hearing about what others are doing in site design. What apps and online sources do you use? Anyone doing or aware of a DN site using Flash? I'm adding some Flash Elements to current site I am building- more for eye candy than for function,however.
I use PhotoShop and PhotoImpact as major graphic edit progs (Lean towards PhotoImpact cause that's what I started w/, use PS primarily when using plug-ins). Also have several smaller progs that do specific things-Applet Effects Factory, a couple of Coffee Cup apps, PaintShop Pro, PhotoMix (good to quickly create montages), and Swish (Easier to use than Flash).
For Web Design I have HomeSite and Dreamweaver, but now primarily use the latter. Have just picked up Contribute (for making site tweaks on-line, but haven't used yet.
WebCoder is a free html editor that I think is a little gem.
Will be composing a list of "gem" apps and sites soon. Ie where to build logos, buttons and other web graphics for free and w/o being bombarded by pop-ups or bringing spyware on board.
So what design progs do you use? and, Any personal favorites (ie little gems) you'd like to share? :?

I used to use Dreamweaver but have not switched to Notepad. I also use photoshop, flash, and paint shop Pro

just an excuse for SHORT cut haha........

I like them shortcuts. No excuses necessary.

p/s look at all the forums/ vB PHPboards/Invision...one could blinfold navigate afte a while...hah...

Only major difference I can see is that PhPBB is open source and free and vBulletin is pay for. Not sure about how Invision works. Sites serviced from all three do look alot alike, down to the skins using the same colors.
(BTW OT -kudos on the improved layout at this site-cleaner and easier to get around in)

There is no diffrent between notepad and dreamweaver in the sense of pure code so why use both ?

Dreamweaver is the best.

I use DW occasionally but for editing, etc. I mostly just use notepad.

Has to do w/ mindset and how i organize more than anything else. Notepad sort of floats around as I work on web elements. For example, I'm doing something w/ a grfx prog and need to add some HTML or create an HTML object right where I'm at. I'll paste (and/or write) code that I'll need for a session stacking it on to NP, hold in tray and pull up or tweak on the pad as needed. Do the same thing when editing or repair elements of a page. I think of Dreamweaver as my "mastering" app.

I guess it's more from habit than from anything else and I'm sure there are more efficient ways of working-maybe i'll pick up something new and better from a post right here.:cy:

I use Homesite 5 for html, and Adobe Photoshop 5.5 for graphics. I also sometimes use Photoshop 7, but honestly, I prefer 5.5 for some reason. I also use ImageReady for animated gifs, and illustrator 10 for logos.

I also use dual monitors most of the time. I get 10 times the work done that way. If you don't have dual monitors, get them!. You'll wonder how you managed without them.
