Hey guys, I am still very new to this domain flipping business. I want to ask what is your view on the value of deleted domain.

For the past week I have been looking at expireddomains(.)net to search valuable domains. I found several domains that I thought were good, all of them were "pending delete" status. So naturally I tried to backorder them through dropcatch(.)com, but they all ended up to be auctioned as I was not the only one to try to backorder them. I believe it is probably a very normal thing, if they are good names, I wouldnt be the only one to spot them and want them. But then it occurs to me that, if a good domain that about to expire would have many people fighting over them. Does that means the DELETED domains are so bad that people are willing to let them be deleted? I see some short names that SEEMS pronounceable and brandable, with some backlinks also. But still nobody wanted them and ended up being deleted. So is my interpretation accurate or am I missing something?

Which brings me to another question. Many of you have probably heard of justdropped(.)com. Dan Rubin provide a list of domains that were just dropped, which means they were also DELETED. I have been checking them out a lot. Many SEEMS like decent domains, short and brandable, or keyword domains. But still doesnt take away the fact that they were DELETED domains that no one wanted before they were deleted. How do you rate the quality and values to dan rubin's list? Were you able to make profit from them? I am not delusional to think that I will be able to buy a domain and make millions. But If I can buy them at $XX and sell them at $XXX - $XXXX, I am still making profit. I just don't want to waste my money.

For the record Backordering services like Dropcatch or Pheenix, all register "queried/top" deleted names. I'm sure you meant to point out the deleted names which remain available after the drop.
Note that all hand-regs with whois ownership history (use tools likedomainbigdata.com/ Domainindex) were once deleted domains.

To find the top deleted domains you have your homework right there because everyone has what they look for in a domain name be it a keyword, for example, "crypto" or whether the name is pronounceable or the number of characters.

@Phn689 Which criteria do you look for before hand-registering?

I filtered to only character, 6 characters max, at least 1 and max 2 english words in a domain. I yet to have a specific niches/topics/keywords to guide my domain search. Maybe later.

That is what the most are targeting, even Dropcatch. You may have to look out for specific niches and increase character count to between 6 and 8 or 6 and 12.

All depends on the name sure lots of rubbish but domainers here for instance might give up and delete when some are worth holding.
