What Is Channel?

I'm new to advertisments and there is a option on Google Adsense page called channel?
what is it used for? is it important?

good if you own more than 1 website, you can create a seperate channel for each of your sites, why is this a nice feature?, it allows you to track each of your sites income from the ads individually instead of all income being lumped together and you have no clue which site it was earned from, you don't have to use it but nice tracking feature to tell which of your sites are making money and which are not doing so well so possible adjustments could be made.

no problem good luck with it, also just so ya know you can make a channel for namepros as well and enter it into your namepros account so you can track how much money you have made just by discussing domains here as namepros does the revenue sharing feature.

1)hit user cp top left of forum
2)hit edit options
3)down at the bottom it has a spot for your pub-id and channel

i use channels for different placement of ads to effectively trace which placement is the best.
