Can someone explain what a bump is?

To bump a thread on an Internet forum is to post a reply to it purely in order to raise the thread's profile. This will typically return it to the top of the list of active threads.

When there is a new post in the thread, the thread will be "bumped" right to the top of all other threads.

So, when you find your thread has no post and it is very low and many threads above you, so you post "bump" and bump your thread to be ahead of other threads.

In addition, you are only allowed to bump in 24 hour period as per rule.
