Hi,
I just had an issue with my domains over at SEDO. As a domainer I of course would list a domain as FOR SALE. Why wouldn't I? Right? Well surprisingly a bunch of my domains I just found out were listed as NOT FOR SALE. Don't know why and a couple had no price set. Well I tried FIX the problem on my own using SEDO's instructions but their system really didn't give you any options to simply change from NOT FOR SALE to FOR SALE.

So naturally I figured the easy way would be just to deleted and reupload. I did this and checked it after and AGAIN my domains were listed as NOT FOR SALE even though this time around I marked them as FOR SALE with minimum offer of $99.

So Contacted SEDO (which is what I should have done in the first place in hindsight) and here's what this LIVE CHAT person said to me. Can you detect the Snarkiness? lol

What ever happened to CUSTOMER SERVICES via LIVE CHAT? most of these people are in third world countries I get it what should one expect right? Doesn't SEDO have quality control over their Live Chat subcontractor?

Here's the dialogue verbatim.

Ian: OK, these are domains you listed in your account recently?
Archimedes Sapitula: actually the first half before the space was already in my account
Archimedes Sapitula: I tried to fix the problem by deleting those domains
Ian: Sir, please see my question:
Ian: Ian says: 03:06:15 PM [00:01:58]
OK, these are domains you listed in your account recently?
Archimedes Sapitula: yes!
Ian: OK, we lock all newly listed domains.
Ian: They're lock until we verify ownership.
Ian: some domains might go through faster
Ian: but generally
Ian: they should all be verified within one business day.
Archimedes Sapitula: oh no no wait wait. let me explain
Archimedes Sapitula: thee problem domains were originally in my account for months since last yet
Archimedes Sapitula: I only just realized now after checking my account that these were marked as NOT FOR SALE
Ian: OK, no, that's not what's happening.
Archimedes Sapitula: sooooooooooo since your system could not let me fix it
Archimedes Sapitula: I deleted it
Ian: Right, when you delete a domain
Ian: and re-list it
Ian: we have to verify your ownership
Archimedes Sapitula: then reuploaded the list again and still it says NOT FOR SALE
Ian: Sir, please
Archimedes Sapitula: ok that's fine
Ian: stop
Ian: I'll explain again.
Archimedes Sapitula: I understand.
Ian: When you list a domain
Ian: EVEN A DOMAIN YOU LISTED PREVIOUSLY
Ian: we need to verify ownership.
Ian: They should be approved within one business day.
Ian: If not, just email usat [email protected]
Archimedes Sapitula: ok may I say something?\
Ian: and we can manually verify them.
Archimedes Sapitula: please?
Ian: Sure, go ahead.
Archimedes Sapitula: ok I uploaded these problem domains like months ago. they WERE ALREADY in MY ACCOUNT
Ian: Right, but since you deleted them
Archimedes Sapitula: okay?
Ian: I have no idea why they weren't listed for sale.
Ian: If you'd contacted us then
Archimedes Sapitula: i see i see i see
Ian: I'd have been happy to help you
Ian: but you deleted them
Ian: so now they're gone.
Archimedes Sapitula: so I made the problem worse
Archimedes Sapitula: understoond
Archimedes Sapitula: got it\
Ian: I'm afraid so.
Archimedes Sapitula: my fault
Archimedes Sapitula: it's ok so how long?
Archimedes Sapitula: 48 hours?
Ian: Again, within one business day,.
Ian:Archimedes Sapitula: alright got it. i should have come here first
Ian: Or just email us.
Archimedes Sapitula: I'll wait then.
Archimedes Sapitula: can I send this transcript to my email?
Ian: You should get one automatically
Ian: once we're done.
Archimedes Sapitula: ok good. Thanks. can you explain why I: can't seem to fix this problem on my own?
Archimedes Sapitula: your system said to go tot he SALES PAGE
Ian: Well, as I said earlier, if you hadn't delete the domains
Ian: I'd have been able to figure out why they were not for sale.
Ian: But right now it's just normal ownership verification
Ian: which takes 12-24 hours.
Archimedes Sapitula: but the sales page has no fix for my problem
Ian: Sir, there is no fix.
Ian: Just a little patience.
Ian: As I've been saying this entire chat.
Archimedes Sapitula: Oh I know there is no FIX ....NOW? but BEFORE I erased? I should have easily been able to do it myself right?
Ian: Sir, I answered that literally a minute ago.
Ian: As I saidf
Ian: and said earlier
Ian: if you hadn't deleted the domains
Ian: I'd have been able to troubleshoot it
Ian: but since you deleted them
Ian: they're done
Ian: and I have no way tocheck.
Archimedes Sapitula: ok let me say this another way. let's assume I DID NOT DELETE? are you saying there is no way for me to have fixed my problem without your help?
Ian: Sir, are you seriously just not listening to what I'm saying?
Ian: I don't know
Ian: you deleted them
Ian: I have no data
Ian: if you see this problem again
Ian: don't delete them
Ian: just contact us
Ian: and we can tell you what the problem is.
Archimedes Sapitula: ok not problem.
Archimedes Sapitula: I guess I'll just wait.
Ian: OK.
Ian: Is there anything else I can help with?
Archimedes Sapitula: not at the present time. have no choice since I deleted.
Ian: OK, have a good day then!
Ianhas disconnected.

is this typical these days? or is it just me? I'm trying to explain to this guy that prior to deleting my domains I BEEN had an issue which LED me to Deleting my domains in the hope of resolving the issue. but this pencil neck Geek, from I'm guessin with an name like Ian is probably one of my fellow Filipinos from my mother country of the Philippines, keeps telling me he can't do nothing since I deleted my domains.

I just wanted to know why I couldn't FIX my issue in the first place before I decided to delete my domains.

should I submit this dialogue to Sedo? as if they care right? what do you think? Petty or what?

so annoying! Now I gotta wait 48 hours just to fix. this.

anyone else experience this Snarkiness from SEDO's Third world Live Chat Support?

I think Ian is in the Massachusetts office.

Lo really I don't know I assumed third world because of the snarkiness. I'd expect that from an outsourced in some third world to act like that just because they think ehhh what can you do to them they are so far away!

I'm guessing you are from sedo.

In general, sedo support is not known for their friendliness... I have dealt with 2 friendly support people at sedo. Mira, who I have not come across in a long time and Amandeep....who is always the best. On that note, I have been unable to access my support center in months. Meaning I cannot see old tickets or access the chat functionality at all.

If I am being totally honest, I did not really see his response as that snarky.... It is mild compared to some exchanges I have had with support, not particularly Ian, a couple others..
