What happen to .cd??

I see there are interest in .tv (television) .tm (trademark) .md (medical doctor) and few more so call co-marketing tlds. But what is the interest level on .cd (compact disc)??

Agreed, none of the other extentions you mentioned is anywhere near the success of the .tv extention.

I tend to agree with this. .tv is possibly the only ccTLD that has successfully branded itself as a generic TLD.
ccTLDs are still good if you avoid the exotic ones...

I think with only a few exceptions, only .tv is any good.

You've got the ones you mentioned above, .fm for radio and .am for radio as well. Otherwise, there really isn't any interest.

.cc is the only other one I can think of, but had a mixed bag of messages (= credit card & others). Also tried a less than successful .com alternative promo at one stage. Non have been anywhere near as successful as .tv in this area.

As WebNIC has direct Accreditation with CDNIC, we can work something out if you are still interested in getting the .cd extension, off course depending on the volume that you're looking at.

Registering album names may be perfectly allowed. While registering beatles.cd you may get in trouble, but album names are no trademarks AFAIK so you should have no issue with registering abbeyroad.cd or darksideofthemoon.cd or so.

Where is that cheap and reliable place to buy .cd domains? I considered regging a few some time ago but was turned off by the pricing at www.nic.cd ; where can you get them for an affordable price at a reliable registrar?

Gerrit, I think if we can get a few people who are interested in reg .cd, we can talk to a registrar and try to negotiate a better price. Anyone keen in .cd, please PM me, so that with estimated volume, we are in a better positions since the demand for .cd is weak now.
