Apple is running an ad for iPod w/ a great tune. The visuals are reverse matte keys in orange and lime w/ full body silhouettes of people dancing and rocking out. Anyone know the group, or was the music created just for the spot?

Blackeyed Peas is the latest one they're showing the one when they were dancing and 'rocking out' was to Steriogram from Australia. "Walkie Talkie Man"

The newest one just came out and I saw it today...it's "Saturday Night", the artist starts with an O...the song's on Madden 2005 (I bought the collector's edition for PS2), so I've known the song for about a month now .

That's crazy...ya know, the thing with the body sillouhettes (sp?)...how do they do that? Someone must be getting a lot of money lol.

It would be pretty easy, just have them stand in front of a greenscreen, and then in a Photoshop-like technique, cut out the outline of their body and the iPod, and then fill it in with green or whatever the color is. It's just a little more time consuming when dealing with frames of a movie instead of one image.

I'm pretty sure the song on the other IPod ad from the black eyed peas is actually "Hey Mama", not get it started...although "get it started" is also an awesome song

The one I'm thinking of is real bodda-bodda-bodda-bing-bing stacatto. Will have to listen to see if they change up the tunes. That is great stuff, but am interested in checking out the Black-Eyed Peas and others. also.

Equivocate is right, this is fairly simple stuff, and is actually not a big budget ad. Now days you can key out just about any background as long as it is faily consistant and it doesn't match any colors that are on the subject, if you are doing color. In the ad I'm thinking of, the subject is monochrome, so they probably pulled all of the chroma out of the subject and compressed the blacks. The actors had some white details w/ clothes/hair/make-up, which creates some detail/definition. Used to shoot alot of blue screen and used some of these techniques back in the day.
