What Game-Changing Features Would Make You Switch to NamePros Landers?

NamePros has recently introduced free domain landers for all its forum members, providing domain investors with a new option for showcasing and selling their domains. Despite this exciting development, many members have yet to transition from other popular platforms to NamePros Parking.

This thread aims to understand what is currently holding you back from switching to NamePros landers.

What features or improvements would be the game-changer for you personally? Are there any specific functionalities that are essential for you to consider making the switch?

Your feedback will help identify the key factors that could make the free NamePros landers the preferred choice for domain investors.

I'm hoping the BULK feature is released soon. I would like to assign BIN / MIN in BULK -- and also up/download my portfolio as needed.
Working on it. :)

It would be nice if URL when going to my domain names pointed at NP to be the actual domain name itself -- instead of Namepros.com/parked
This is also on our to-do list.

For HTML enabled fields -- is there a "wildcard" that allows me to put within the HTML that identified the domain name.
Are you asking about the template variable for the domain name?

Try {domain} to see if that's what you want.

Let us know.

NamePros Landers are built to make it easy for you to switch to another service.
In every context, I truly believe that your philosophy behind building the NPP platform embodies the opposite of vendor lock-in. The only challenge Iโ€™m facing is finding the right terminology to describe what youโ€™re doing. Perhaps terms like "Freedom Partnership", "Generosity Opt-in", "Collaborative Freedom", "Community First", "Empowerment Opt-in", or "Shared Success" could capture it.

Thanks, that seems to be working in the Expanded Description (couldn't get it to work in the Short Description)

That's by design :)

It's explained in this guide:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/html-enabled-text-in-namepros-parking.1027793/

"The short description option allows a small amount of text below the domain name heading, within the main domain name display. This field cannot use any additional HTML tags, has a max length of 150 characters (HTML tags do not count towards this limit), and does not support template variables since those could make the description too long."

what is currently holding you back
Hi

a chain on my ankle, hooked to brick wall, is holding me back, for now.

imo...
Good thing we're a fun service, not a serious business.
Hi

that could send the wrong message.

because when other people's domains are enhancing the platform footprint, then it should be taken seriously.

imo...
Voodoo back in the day
Hi
glad you mentioned them
IF... and that's a big IF,
if NP had templates like voodoo did and hooked up with an ad feed (Yahoo)...
then i'd consider moving some names to test it.

as is, i'd just be sending traffic to NP and getting less in return than what i use now.

Do you still earn good money from ads on your parked domains?

There's a chance that we offer a way to monetize your domains in a year or two.

Currently, we haven't heard many members say that revenue is meaningful for them.

As a forum member, I have been involved with NamePros Parking since the pre-launch phase, contributing ideas and participating in early testing. I am a big fan of the program. To advance to the next level and attract a larger target group, I believe some short-term and longer-term improvements are necessary.

Game Changers / Essential Key-factors

[My batch of Sep 2, 2024]

Develop a separate NamePros Parking Dashboard that operates independently from the limited XenForo design. Aim to create an exceptional user experience for Sellers, comparable to the high standards set by DAN years ago. Although the technology operates impressively in the background, greater focus on enhancing and simplifying the user experience for Sellers would be beneficial.

Streamline portfolio management, taking inspiration from marketplaces like DAN. The upcoming CSV upload/download feature is a good start. Additionally, consider minimizing the number of total clicks required to upload a portfolio and provide notifications/overviews about which domains have exactly been added, modified, removed, or have remained unchanged. Archive all Seller-uploaded CSV files and make them easily re-downloadable to Sellers. Provide excellent filtering and search capabilities within the portfolio. Allow editing actions on only filtered results. Make bulk deletes possible. The challenges in this whole portfolio management area are quite extensive, and I cannot list everything here. However, I'm available to provide input if necessary.

Ability to host the landing page directly on its own domain, without further redirect to NamePros.com.

To closely emulate the experience on current marketplaces (here lies a huge addressable market opportunity), leverage extensive collaborations, partnerships, and industry APIs. Registrars, payment providers, and escrow providers are likely to show interest based on the communicated ambitions for the future. Join forces smartly and effectively, but let NamePros maintain ownership of the entire process from start to finish, providing feedback to Sellers and Buyers at every stage. Create an ecosystem for the benefit of all participants.

I'd like to discreetly mention that I and others are really willing to contribute a small amount to expedite development. It doesn't have to be completely free. Such funding can also come from a small markup paid by Buyers when a successful transaction takes place. There are numerous ways to contribute to NamePros financially, including a combination with the existing paid membership levels for the forum. Trust me, your proposition will still remain very attractive, even with a small fee in whatever form.

That's it for today. Thanks for making NamePros Landers possible.

Hi

any money earned on a domain before it gets sold, is good money.
so, if you added ppc to the service, then you "could be" 1st option.

as for what's meaningful to other members,
maybe read thru some threads in Parking section to get idea.
those members who are earning revenue with ppc, really won't have much use for what you're offering now.

Thanks for replying.

imo...

Could you share with us your goals behind this idea?

Once we understand what you'd like to accomplish and why, we can probably come up with a solution.

Thanks.
To make in such a way so that even you don't know who is owner of such a domain.

Interesting idea. We'll give it some thought.

There are two existing solutions if you don't want NamePros to know who owns the domain name:

(1) Create a new NamePros account that you use exclusively for our landers.

(2) Use a domain broker who will put the domain on our landers for you.

There are already brokers who use our landers on behalf of their clients: they simply have their clients set the verification nameservers associated with the brokers' NamePros accounts. For all of those domains, we do not know who are the owners of those domains, but we know that the owners have authorized those brokers to represent those domains on their behalf.

That's also why we use the word "seller" instead of "owner" since the person selling the domain may be a broker and not the owner.

We hope this helps.

If we were to go with #1 would all of the domains have to be delisted and then relisted with the new account or would they be able to be transferred?

You'd only need to update the nameservers on your domains and then add them to your new account. Our system will automatically take care of the rest. You don't need to remove/delist them from your existing account, but you can.

maybe if the owner will include somehow his contact email directly in NS and the page will take that and display it
This is a really cool idea, and it actually already exists with SOA records in DNS. B-)

It also contains the email address of the responsible person for this zone

We could do something like this, but it'd make it very difficult for us to resolve abuse of our service.

Instead, these solutions are probably best.

"For the record", instead of the SOA RNAME, there's also the RP (responsible person) resource record in DNS, although somewhat less common.

A+++ pun. :xf.wink:

"there's also the RP (responsible person) resource record in DNS, although somewhat less common.
RP17RFC 1183Responsible PersonInformation about the responsible person(s) for the domain. Usually an email address with the @ replaced by a .
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_DNS_record_types

We'd probably just use a TXT record for it if we did it, but it's cool to show that this concept already exists in DNS.

Can you not just add this to 'what should name pros add'

As always thanks and welcome

(Domain landers served through DNS TXT records would be the real game changer for me personally, especially when introduced in April.)

Is there are way to include a hyperlink such as:

<a href="https://www.example.com">Visit our website</a>
You'll be able to link to your company's website within your user card soon. :)

Your company's domain will just need to be verified with us, which can be done through TXT verification without disrupting your website or hosting provider.

Pro Tip: You could use our lander on your company's domain to create a portfolio page by adding relevant company details to its description, including a list of your domains. Then, link to your company's domain on all of your landers. B-)
