Am I reading this right??
According to this news report, any domain can be bought up when it expires?
without repercussions? I don't get it.
If the host made a mistake, aren't they supposed to just take it back,
you know, the big powers that be.
And if the whois is invalid, is that not grounds to take it? (being fake and all)

And harm the current owner who did nothing wrong? Why?

True, an injury has been done to both parties, but the losing owner has recourse through a claim against their registrar (*meh), while the gaining owner would lose all time, development, and money if the domain was summarily removed from their account.

This would also seem to induce errors, as there would be no incentive for registrars to be extra-careful (Not that there currently is anyway).
