So what does everyone think of .Asia and will you or have you ordered any names, what type are you going to go for - names, numbers, LLL, NNN etc? Cities, landmarks, industries, Chinese, Japanese words? What do you think investments will be like in a year, how much do you think premium domains will be worth in the future? Is it worth investing in some?

you could register names before landrush and no one talked about them and now topics are coming up, whats up with that. its not like you own the domain. wait after march to start a proper discussion.

Just checked my account and I had about 40 .asia names and now they all have disapeared except for one. Just a heads up to watch out for missing .asia domains now that landrush has started. Godaddy had nothing on record of this happening to anyone and dont know what happened just yet.

Is there anyone able to register .asia domain names at godaddy?
when i check there .asia registration page; registration disappears!

some of my .asia domains has been gone from my account (godaddy) where?? :'( . i asked them.. here is the answer :)

Thank you for taking time to contact Online Support.

There was a problem with the application. The .ASIA domain name is being resubmitted back to the registry. We (and the customer) will receive additional information regarding the status of the domain tomorrow. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Please feel free to contact us with any other comments or concerns.

Godaddy does refund. Under their .asia page see their FAQ - it says this under "what is the process..." :

When you apply for the domain, we charge you an application fee, if applicable, and the registration fee. If the domain is rejected, we refund the registration fee.

Anyone know if there will be a way to know if a domain name already has more than one application?

NOte; It says refund of registration fee, not the application fee. So you do not get all your money back.. I do not know, as I do not buy from godaddy. Their price is too much! USD19.99 vs what I get at USD9/yr for .asia. My registrar offer full refund on unsucessful submission. Not credit!

What is the difference between unsuccessful submission and successful submission? Aren't all registrars supposed to submit the names registered?

A bit confused. :-/

I pre-reg at Moniker, $30 minimum for 2 yrs with a 4% Paypal charge non-refundable.
My domain got denied and was credited $30 reason being I am not allowed to reg yet from USA. My Paypal charge is not refunded. So I guess I will wait tilll March 26 when everybody from anywhere in the world out of Asia could register.

That's the standard Moniker procedure. Tried to register a expensive CCTLD and got an error on the registry's fault, lost around $3 to paypal. :td:

According to the rules, no one outside of Asia can ever register .asia domain unless you have a asia address. I would recommend you not going through Moniker and instead one of those registrars which will give you a proxy asia address as one of your contacts. :)

So does anyone really know the difference between the landrush period and pre land rush? or is there really no difference?
If you are referring to .Asia, then there isn't any difference.

Can anyone please tell us the difference between Landrush pre-registration and the current phase going which is Landrush. What's the difference between both? Will the domain be auctioned in both? Please explain to us.

Thank you,
AbdulBasit

If you pre-registered domains before landrush, your applications will be submitted by your registrar after Landrush kicks off.

If you register during the Landrush period, your application will be submitted to dotAsia immediately.

There will be Landrush autions for popular domains, there will be no Landrush Pre-Registration Auctions as there is no "Landrush Pre-Registration Period". All the domains you pre-registered for Landrush before the landrush period starts will be submitted during the landrush period.

hi

i bought a few .asia names yesterday. Although the auction part is a big tricky, I hope I can get the domains I like and sell them for a profit later. I guess I will take my chances and winning the lottery is tougher for me.

Sorry for my bad English but I still didn't understand but hope that pre-registration is better then the current phase (landrush) going on...
