it has a huge overture. It's worth a TON more than that. 483,000,000. also .ca is one of the most popular domain endings for canada. It's an amazing domain. Thats all i will say

It certainly has great potential, I will say that. I believe it would be best served as some type of search engine since that would be a good use for the keyword "were". A canadian based one at that.

Can't really offer a specific price though. Mainly because I'm not familiar with canadian .ca values currently. But I will agree that canadians do speak highly of their .ca extension, so you should be in a good position of receiving nice interest as long as perspective buyers know of the domain, or are looking for it.

Smart investment there (for canada).

I specifically recall reading a thread here (NP) that shunned the robotic replies without offering useful suggestions for a posted domain appraisal or at least say why we feel the way we do in a way that could advise the seller. So thats all I did was offer some minor advice that you could merely consider at your own discrection.

I hope it works out for you two. Cheers.

Since the word "were" is a very common one in every day language, overture stats don't mean a lot here. There's generic and there is too generic.

Too generic for very short domains CAN be excellent, but to me, "were" has a negative connotation because it's about something in the past. I just have a hard time seeing it as something brandable. Using it as "we're" like were.com does is a hard sell in secondary market.

I'm Canadian and have been in the domain business for 4+ years now and doing business online a lot longer... and with many large companies across a number of industries... and I can't figure out one type of business that might be attracted to the domain unless it was a significant part of their company name. They aren't easy acronym letters either.

As a .com, it could easily be $2X,XXX with right buyer.... .ca? $5k *maybe*... and that would be Canadian $ - so $4k US. More realistic would be $2k. Fast turnover half that. Clarification: The $1k was referring to end user purchasing.
