hi guys
I have a new site I'm developing and it will involve the collection of multiple small payments ranging from approx $2 to $25 +

By multiple I mean there could be say 2000 $2 payments in a day (if all goes to plan!)

Can anyone direct me to the most efficient way of collecting this revenue...so I can minimise on charges and fees and make the site still viable (without revising pricing!)

Some people may not have paypal so i cannot solely offer this. Im thinking credit cards, nochex?

There just seems so many options I need some help here please!

THANKS

Going with both PayPal and 2CO would be your very best bet. ;)

Thanks guys..

I had a look at 2co's site and info and it seems they have a charge of $0.45 per Sale or 5% of the transaction......

Now I can handle 5% no problem but $0.45 per Sale is way steep if I am only getting $2 per informational item.....

Am I going to HAVE to factor this into the costing...

like $2.50 basically :'(
I really really want to avoid this is possible but hey??!

Does paypal operate similiar pricing from anyones experience

TIA

the way i deal with it is i add $0.45 to the pricing and give a freebie or 2, but the convenience it will provide for the customer is appraised by customers, and also knowing it's not free will give them some dignity and not that only but security to buy from you knowing 2co will be 3rd party for their charges good luck :)

hey thanks weblord :hehe:

appreciate that information....
I may have to go this route though I was hoping to keep to the $2 marker....
as you say I will just have to add .45c as "payment charge" :'( by the look of it

Paypal will start you off at 2.9% and 29 cents per transaction. You won't have as many fraud stops and chargebacks as with 2co either.

You can set paypal up to look like your own pages now, and even allow your customers to pay via CC if they aren't paypal members.

I'd go that route with lot's of small charges.

Go with PayPal. They are good. But, compare the transaction fee. Because, accepting small amount will only enough to pay the transaction fee sometimes.

Great stuff guys. Thanks.
I didnt realise paypal now allows you to make the page look like your own AND take CC payments :)
That sounds like the way forwards by the look of it...
