why not use wordpress, vix, or any of these sort?

depends on what kind of website you want to develop.

If its solely landing page plus some text & links, nice pics, I would go with wordpress.

And if you want to show news of a particular topic, there is some add on for it I think.

That should be for flipping so i would need a course that show at least a path to develop a blog from scratch oriented to its flip
