Ya going to go the way of a massive vbul custom forum, i love webmasterworld but it doesn't have a good marketplace, i can't rss or subscribe to threads i like. Going to work really hard to make an awesome community.

Hi bwd! Pretty good domain name! WebPub.com - As you wrote, can work really hard to make an awesome community. There are already many such communities. If you wanna make it to the top, study and research other established competitors.

If I had this domain name, would develop a game - a virtual pub/bar or something - or a directory of pubs/bars worldwide. I would also consider investing in Second Life - brand the domain and use it for virtual business operations in Second Life. You can get loads of traffic doing that and earn money from contextual advertising. Also consider factors for success, such as usability, accessibility and SEO.

Undeveloped as it is now, would appraise it to mid XX$ - just because it is catchy, highly brandable, all-letter, short domain name. Once the site is developed and you provide unique and quality content that attracts alot of visitors, then you can even sell it for thousands of dollars - depending of course on how is the overall performance of it.

Set goals and make improvements when and where needed.

Ya its a hard choice, i love pubs and i love web publishing, was already planning on a big web publishing network to mesh in with my other sites but a big directory of pubs around the world and reviews would be pretty sweet, hmmm we will see how it goes over next few months...
