WebDesign Programs???

Hi everyone!

I am looking for a new web design program for our website www.kictribe.org Currently using FrontPage and it doesn't do so well with graphics and video clips. Any advice????? Also take a look and let me know if you have any suggestions. I am pretty new to web design and am really looking for an honest opinion on how I have done so far.

GET RID OF FRONTPAGE!!! IT IS A HORRIBLE APP!!!!


Now that we settled that....here is my suggestion in replacement of frontpage:

GET DREAMWEAVER!!!!! ITS WAY BETTER THAN FRONTPAGE

ok now, you can find the almighty dreamweaver here: http://www.macromedia.com/software/dreamweaver/

Not to mention, many individuals find it easier to just use a web design company to do it for you, check my site out for example: http://www.digidogstudios.com/

yea Front page sucks, Dreamweaver MX is the best way to go

If your used to FrontPage stick with it. DreamWeaver is better but if you have FrontPage already, are only updateting one site, and are used to it, there is no real use changing over.

Now for graphics I would recommend to you Fireworks over Photoshop. It's very easy to paste stuff, crop it, slice it, export and optimize it for the internet.

Dreamweaver is the best, but, its expensive. Remember, you get what you pay for. Now, if you're serious about designing, then I can tell you, you won't be dissapointed, but, if this is just a hobby, don't bother forking out the £300 it'd cost to get it!

Well I use FrontPage. I find it easy for me to use it. Dreamweaver seems too complicated for me.

You should concentrate more in using Dreamweaver rather then FrontPage.

Dreamweaver is for those that do hardcore site designs and the like. I am not one of them. That is why I stick to FronPage.

Hardcore? Woah, wait, not all people with Dreamweaver make porn sites! Lol, joke.

Seriously though, I agree. Dreamweaver is not designed for your average 15 year-old who does web design as a hobby. It's designed for web professionals. As for me, I only fit half of the criteria - I'm 15 years-old, but I run a web design business and use Dreamweaver for that

So, as I said, if your serious about web design - buy Dreamweaver. If you're not - don't. Don't expect that just if you buy Dreamweaver that you will be able to make amazing sites overnight though! It takes years of practice and a combination of graphi design programs to make decent sites.

I have a fairly big collection of graphic design programs and, combined with Dreamweaver, I can put together a pretty decent site. I've been doing this for 5 years now (a very short time, in the industry), and I'm still learning new stuff about all my programs.

Well I am 25 so heh. I use Frontpage like I said for the simple stuff but I also use it for editing web templates. I plan on getting Flash so I can edit the flash templates as well.

i use dreamweaver and photoshop
fireworks is also a great tool for designing websites

dreamweaver is much better and you dont have to fork out £300 i brought a brand new boxed and unopened from ebay for just £60 also brought fireworks for £50 so you have no reason not to upgrade

If You want to get freeware try search more professional software. .

If u need professional and paid software Try Dreamweaver MX !! IT ROCKS :P

Ah, I like HoTMetaL. Unfortantantly it has been discontinued. I tried DreamWeaver, got a headache. Went back to my old HoTMeTaL. Wish they'd bring it back... sigh.
