Webdesign Help please

hi guys,

I'm new here and I would like to know if anyone of you know of any good tutorials on building a website. I am a beginner to intermediate web designer. I am designing a website for someone that is simple, but has some flash in it.

Overall I would like to know the concept of webdesign. How it should be layed out, how much information I should put on each page, how neat and organized it needs to be, etc.

Does anyone know of any good books or sites I can follow.

What is the type of the site you are designing? These questions just depend on this answer.
