Web SITE Reviews?

Hi all,

As many of you know, we have a forum "Web Design Reviews", a place to share opinions on website layouts.

However, I was curious if web site reviews are acceptable? Things similar too:

• Website Concepts
• How a certain "feature" on the site works
• How a certain category or section is represented
• Possible/Future Ideas for Site
• Suggestions on Current Features
• Feedback on a product
• Etc.

These are just a few examples. I have always been under the impression that website concepts, etc. were allowed in this forum. However, one of your moderator/webdesign team members said something yesterday that made me think:

That is quite rude. We are here to review pages...and we can review idea at the same time. However this is not really the place to review ideas. It is a place to review designs...

It seems by his remarks, the forum is strictly for web design. If this is true, where can users post for web site reviews?

If my understandings are correct - perhaps we should have a "Web Site Reviews" section, or "Web Sites, Ideas & Concepts" as a sub-forum.

Good idea, I was thinking about this too. Seems like pcwebadvice get's upset when we do things like this :p

That is quite rude. We are here to review pages...and we can review idea at the same time. However this is not really the place to review ideas. It is a place to review designs...

Err, that really isn't the case. Website reviews are about the content and ideas as well and are just as important as the design.

Your ideas seem great for reviews

I tend to lean more over to content as well now with my reviews rather than just appearance as well - gives the webmaster something to work on with too.

Hope that clears matters up.

Web Design Reviews

It isn't Web Layout Reviews...this is for how your design looks. Don't post if it isn't right. We will read your addy and do just what our category states. If you misrepresent the data then it is your fault. I am sick of the recent posts bashing our team.

We don't even make NP$ when posting. The best we do is rep here and there. We are really here being generous and helping out where others don't. So please, don't slam us because we are doing our job.

That's why I post this thread: confirmation. Is this 'PCWebAdvice' correct, or spreading ignorance and rude posts? He sure talks highly of what he's doing.

Ok, how about, when a user posts their site up for a review, if they mention they also want a review on the site idea, concept, and we will give them one?

Sound good?

Lets see if RJ will change the forum title, and see what he thinks of the idea.
