Do you really think this? I think web 2.0 has a some patterns in terms of overlay, colours, the brighter shadow at the bottom, the use of diagonal stripes, etc.....

Yes, we all know about the tutorials and colour sheets.

However, because they have being made, doesn't make it Web 2.
Look on Digg, most of the members there know what's Web 2 and what's not.

Articles like that get flamed usually.
Also, why would gradients, reflections and bright colours be Web 2? Yes, the very same design scheme which was used alot a few years ago.

Oh, Do a car company every release a new car...

Go have a Google, you might find a article by O'reilly, he states what's Web 2

Web 2.0 is all about ease of use, and power of web applications. If the graphics and colours make it easier to use, then they are web2.0. Also, many of web 2.0 sites tend to use similar logos and colours. This is a web2.0 trend/style.
