Excellent news!! Very glad they won it! This is the reason I was saying The Weather Channel probably wasnt promoting TWC.mobi yet, because they were probably using it as their backup plan incase they werent awarded weather.mobi in RFP. It would be stupid to market and promote TWC.mobi and then a few months later change the name of your site to Weather.mobi and have to start from scratch. I am sure part of the RFP process in awarding the name is that the company has to use the name and promote it, otherwise a different company would be better off with the name. Cant wait to see what Weather Channel does now.

The name was transfered on the 20th so I'm thinking they will be changing that soon. If they don't I will really wonder what the heck mtld was thinking giving them that premium name to only be used as a redirect to a site that advertises the .com.

If it doesn't change then we need to reconsider a bit our support for the extension. Let's check back on this one a few weeks from now.

Agreed Arnie! mTLD has strict rules in the RFP process. I believe this wont be a redirect and I am sure they will promote the .mobi site!

.mobi is becoming bigger and bigger!
