just wondering how the WBM can be of use and importance in picking domain names?
I know that seeing your name have a lot of saves and years back to it, cannot hurt it.. but if logic says the name itself is not the best, is it still worth while to pickup this domain based on waybackmachine info alone?
for instance, I recently registered an .org with 218 saves on wbm but a 2 word name.. nothing extraordinary you'd normaly go for... which is probably why it was still available
so... if you had a choice between getting a name your whole mind says is a good one, but maybe does not even show in the machine at all! and then another name which is less great to you, but shows 200 saves and goes years back.. what should a fairly new newbie do in these situations?
and more generally, how much attention should I pay to the wbm when getting names.. be it new ones or from auctions.. I read in many places that we should ALWAYS check the machine. but honestly, to this moment, I am not exactly sure why.
thank you
