Warning. This is eNom...

I had a domain at eNom which expired on 4th June 2008. It is no longer in my account. Neither is it in my list of expired domains. Other expired domains go back as far as May 20th. The whois has changed to their privacy whois. I know this is my fault in letting it expire. I know their ToS allows them to take your domains. But I'd just like to share with you what eNom are up to with our domains.

Yeah, domains are taken away the same day they expire. Unlike other registrars like Godaddy (not that i'm a Godaddy fan, which i am not).

That's one reason why I'm not too found of Enom. Always get that feeling they are playing the domain game against their customers whenever they get the opportunity :imho:
But you may still be able to redeem the name for $160, that's what they call "extended RGP" in their unique parlance (which isn't real redemption actually)

There have been times when I let domains expire at eNom and have always been able to renew them days and even weeks after expiration. I have never experienced the problem described. Maybe it's because my names weren't sexy enough to grab and yours were? It would be interesting to hear more about that.

I am glad I moved all my domains out last week. eNom and Tucows are like Brothers and Sisters.... Keep what they want and dish the junk to the rest! :imho:

Absolutely disgusting practices by this joke of a registrar. People in the domain industry wonder why we have a bad reputation. Well you have individuals or companies in this case using deceptive practices to gain an advantage over the next person or company.

Well if the name truly is in redemption the registrar will charge between $80 and $200+ it depends... the higher fee is because the name has to be 'recovered' manually with the registry. Normally you have a grace period for a few days.

On the other hand Enom tries to confuse you with their so-called 'extended RGP' status when the name is NOT in redemption. It has expired so they renewed it with the registry for reg fee and they keep it to themselves... this is just a ploy to justify their asking $160 to redeem your fomer domains
