VPS or dedicated?

What do you prefer after web hosting account?

It would depend on the type of site that is being hosted but I would prefer dedicated if the price was right.

A VPS is nice, IMHO, but if budget allows I would opt for dedicated almost every time. The reason being is most VPS software...the ones I'd use anyway...still leave the VPS node subject to trouble. You can't beat having an entire processor devoted to your needs.

if you mean as a starter i prefer vps then learn from it, then study and learn unix commands and rent a dedicated.

I prefer VPS deal and use it from the company that offers shared hosting that can be upgraded with time. Say globaltap.com offers different kinds of hosting services and they allow to change it with time if it's necessary.

Yes, would rather go reselling, if you ask about the next step - it would depend on how much resources and access will I need, but first thought is VPS for sure.

Since VPS has had much better uptime, is much faster, and gives you much more freedom, since you can install any panel you want, my would-be choice is VPS hosting solution. I also prefer gradual upgrades. But it should be according to the requirements. If you need Vps after a shared account you should go for that instead of traditional upgrade to a reseller.
