I have been approached by a company in the Caribbean about the possible purchase of the name for a client:

Visit Saint Lucia dot com

(Saint Lucia is an island nation in the eastern Caribbean Sea on the boundary with the Atlantic Ocean. Part of the Lesser Antilles, it is located north of the islands of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, northwest of Barbados and south of Martinique. It is also known as the "Helen of the West Indies" because it switched between British and French control so often it was likened to the mythical Helen of Troy.

Saint Lucia is one of the Windward Islands, named for Saint Lucy of Syracuse. It was first visited by Europeans in about the year 1500 and first colonized successfully by France who signed a treaty with the native Carib peoples in 1660. Great Britain took control of the island from 1663 to 1667 then went to war with France over it fourteen times, and finally took complete control in 1814. Representative government came about in 1924 (with universal adult suffrage from 1953) and from 1958 to 1962 the island was a member of the Federation of the West Indies. Finally, on February 22, 1979, Saint Lucia became an independent state of the Commonwealth of Nations. The island nation celebrates this every year with a public holiday.

Tourism is vital to St. Lucia's economy and the economic importance of such is expected to continue to increase as the market for bananas becomes more competitive. Tourism tends to be more substantial during the dry season (January to April). St Lucia tends to be popular due to its tropical weather and scenery and its large number of beaches and resorts.

Saint Lucia has won the World's Leading Honeymoon Destination awards by World travel Awards for 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007 (according to the Saint Lucia Tourist Board.)

Any suggestions for end user value? I have checked Namebio but cannot see any consistency in values for VisitXXXX dot com domain names.

Any help appreciated.

The only other decent Visitxxxxxxx name sale I have seen was visitflorida.com in 2004 for $186,000 - although there are many official tourism departments that own them now.

Is it the official tourism department that's asking ?

looks like they own http://www.stlucia.org/

It is a web design company allegedly acting for a client that is asking.

I had already seen the VisitFlorida.com sale info, which is in a completely different league from other names such as VisitHonduras.com and VisitColombia.com which were the only other visit(country) names mentioned by NameBio.

Sedo has a few Visit(country).com names listed and if any asking amount is given, it is generally over $10,000.

I think I made a mistake on my appraisal..
VisitOrlando.Com was sold for 13.000$ last year! How VisitSantaLucia can be low xx.xxx$?

I think now VisitSantaLucia.Com can be mid x.xxx$

I would get them to make the first offer and take it from there, there's a very good chance it may just be the official tourism department on the end of that offer - although there is probably no way of knowing.

I think the visit prefix is something that both tourists and tourism departments are very comfortable with nowadays and considering the no prefix domain would likely be worth a fair bit then don't sell too cheap, that's how I look at it anyway ;)
