IDN domains, dot com, even two letter ones barely sell for anything for some time now.

The exceptions mentioned above have to do with the IDN corresponding exactly to the foreign accents of the actual word, or some other rare exception to the rule of worthlessness.

Scam warning in case buyers find this thread seller doesn’t own VIP.com but a code that misleads surfer to believing they are at correct address.

Where did he claim he owned vip.com? This is an appraisal thread not a seller thread. Are IDN domains banned on this forum? Pretty sure they're not so what's the problem?

Real IDN reflect a usage in particular countries where IDN may be used and the domain actually means something in that native language.
This type of "fake" domain appears on a regular basis on NP's. Usually soon after they have dropped and re registered by someone who thinks they know better.
víp.com was registered just a couple of weeks ago.

IDN for discussion have always had their own section for discussion and appraisal, https://www.namepros.com/forums/idn-and-emoji-domain-discussion.113/ and for sale https://www.namepros.com/forums/internationalized-domain-name-idn-incl-emoji.121/ this is where this domain should be but for some strange reason it is not.
