Could you show us some CSS code?

I have a feeling that this second computer changed the browser settings so the text size is really big.

If you used "em" instead of "pt" or "px", then it would allow the browser (IE) to resize the text.

If you wanted it the same on everyone's computer, you would simply use "px" or "pt". This causes problems for the visually impaired however.

The best websites are accessible to everyone. You should continue using "em"s if that is what you are using.

you cannot view my css formatting when view the source on my sites, because i use an external css file for all my pages...i do use 'em' for my font size...should i be using px/pt?

It could also just be that his computer has bigger text enabled. Try holding Control and scrolling the mouse wheel up (that probably isn't the problem though).

Did you set a doctype?

Could it also be resolution?

my buddys resolution is tiny...he's running on a 800x640!?!..(just kidding...probably a bit bigger)...what do you mean by doctype?...how do i set that.?

First off, kill the bold, we don't need it. Have you tried it on different resolutions to start?

i've tried different resolutions with different web browsers. i've only came across this problem on two computers...both IE. could this be an Internet Explorer thing?? (sorry about the bold...didn't know it would make people mad)

It could be that they have enlarged text, due to eye problems. I know my mom enlarges her text on IE. Did you view it in Firefox on their computers?

it displays properly with firefox aswell. if i were to use pt/px in my css instead of em..would it display the same on everyones monitor.

(sorry to keep this going on so long)

I strongly suggest that you continue to code it in "em" the way it is. I can almost guarantee you that if you view any other website with these two computers, you will see an increased font size.

1. Resolution is really small
2. Browser font-size is larger

People sometimes have trouble reading small text.. you should NEVER make it hard for them to read by defining the size. The people who need larger text sizes won't care how your layout looks, but rather the content.
