Most of the youtube clones requre root access to install certain items to be able to transfer from basic windows media items to FLV. Use something like mediasitescript.com, very simple and easy to use. I have tested it out, also very easy to edit the template.

The owner of mediasitescript.com (and gamesitescript.com) is MIA. Check the forums (http://forums.mediasitescript.com/ & http://forum.gamesitescript.com/). Many unhappy customers who paid via Paypal and got nothing in return. It's a good script, but it's virtually unsupported and abandoned ATM.
