I feel like that person [you] overpaid. Sure it looks cool, but 'domain hacks' aren't worth much without development...

I think this is a good one, 1000 doesnt sound that much over priced! I guess just about the right price for an end user who wants to develop it. If you bought it for development purposes, then go on with it, make a poker / gambling site or sell it off to some of the major market players in offlin las vegas, maybe someone will have a eye for it!
