speaking of us zipcodes, I own USzipcodes(.)mobi. I also have 94087 and 94040. I dont think people will search using zipcodes though but I thought I would pick up a few just incase. I might develop uszipcodes into a site to type in a zipcode and get the city name or to type in the city name and get the zipcode and to list all zipcodes in each state.

I wouldnt type in a zipcode myself...I wouldnt always know the code where I am but usually know what town or city I'm in...imho

in cases where a zipcode defines an area that is upscale i would say there is a very good opportunity for profitable development

it would be have to be a _single_ zipcode that completely defines a single definable area

i may be wrong but i don't think there are a lot of these around

i think of places in california where i lived: la jolla, marin county, rancho santa fe, beverly hills, palm springs ... all are very upscale but all have multiple zipcodes

an obvious exception would be places like 90210 and 10005 etc

You have a lot and it's going to cost a lot just in renewal fees.
Each domains should earn at least reg fee to make it worthwhile.
Did you register the zip codes for France or the US ?

I personally like the zip code concept like the .us registry is trying to set up. One thing to take into consideration: usually the locals know their zip code but people who are 'passing through' and looking for local resources will not always know the zip code for the area they are in... Especially in large cities that span several zip codes. So not everyone is going to instinctively use the zip as a way of finding relevant, local information.
It looks difficult to monetize unless you put up a lot of promotional effort.
Perhaps if you team up with the yellow pages there is hope

No zip for french registered, not really used in france except for paris 75001,75002...

I like how my Sprint phone automatically triangulates it's position, so it knows its location (and zipcode). I think the trend will be that sites will automatically be able to read that data from most cellphones, making the whole .mobi zipcode collection less valuable.

If you are gonna do something with that portfolio, do it now or lose out later.

I own myzip.mobi. I will develop it in end of year.

Big zips like 90210 or other famous ones are the exception imo - or if you are going to use it as a personal site or something.

Great name seanboy. Yet another New York domain to be developed. Makes me wonder what impact that we can have on the growth and adoption of .mobi because of the concentration of sites like Manhattan.mobi, Boroughs.mobi, JCN.mobi (serving Jersey City), 10005.mobi, LongIsland.mobi, and my own upcoming CNY.mobi (serving upstate Central New York).

As for Zip Code mobi's in general I think it would benefit to be a large network of sites that are developed cookie cutter style. Visit your own "zipcode".com and you may find as I do a Yellow Pages site under the umbrella of myzip.com. Colombani, maybe use your own myzip mobi to do the same thing.

Of course if you would like to know the zipcode of what city you are in, you can visit ZipCodeLookup.mobi or ZipCodeFinder.mobi (Areacodefinder.mobi), and look it up. :D

The only zipcode I think that is worthwhile right now is 90210.mobi Unless you plan on great development with it.

I feel the same way about zipcode .coms too
